Christmas Fun

My younger brothers and sisters helped me decorate this "Gingerbread House" Cake for our family's Christmas celebration. I made a sheetcake, cut and stacked it, and then used icing to stick graham crackers, candy, and various peppermint things to it. The Christmas tree is made out of a waffle cone.

Just For Fun

I spent the night at my friend Kendra's house and taught her some cake decorating techniques. She did very well. I can't tell a difference between the flowers I did and the ones she did!

Red Velvet Cake

Red Velvet Cake is my specialty birthday cake. I have made it for several people at school. This particular one was for my amazing piano teacher and Ear Training professor, Dr. Benton.

Christine's Birthday Cake

Hannah and I threw a Surprise party for our friend Christine's 21st Birthday. Her favorite color is green, and she loves little tree frogs, so I made a Green Velvet Cake with green icing shaped like a tree frog and covered with fondant. This is the result.

Harvest Party Dessert Contest

There is a themed dessert contest every year at my church's Harvest Party. The theme last year was apples, so I made my mom's famous Apple Cake. She let me use the recipe because she decided to enter in the chili contest instead- where she won first place! The Apple Cake had Cinnamon Icing and Caramel Sauce. If you look in the bottom right corner you can see the ribbon I won... First Place!

Lisa's Birthday Cake

Lisa was having a movie-themed birthday party, and asked me to make the cake. She didn't care what it looked like. Once I'm given an idea I can go with it, but I have a hard time coming up with awesome ideas. So Hannah, Madeline, and I brainstormed and came up with this popcorn-box cake decorated with theatre candy. The stripes are twizzlers, and there is real popcorn on top.

Molly's Birthday Cake

I wanted to practice the decorations for Melissa and Jean-Luc's Wedding Cake, and Molly's birthday coincided with a High School Fellowship, so I made a cake for her using the decorations Melissa had picked out for her Wedding Cake!

John's Birthday Cake

JP's awesome girlfriend Hannah organized a super fun game-themed surprise party for his 21st birthday. I made a royal flush birthday cake to go along with the theme.

Graduation Cakes

Cousin Bridget's Graduation Party- June 2006
Chocolate Cake with Raspberry Filling, Vanilla and Raspberry Icing, Chocolate Sauce, Strawberries and Raspberries.

Hannah's Graduation- May 2007
Yellow Cake with Vanilla Icing, Strawberries and Blackberries. Served with Strawberry Sauce.

Elijah and Lauren's Wedding Cake

This was the first wedding cake I made! It's a white cake with strawberry filling, buttercream icing, and fondant. There are piped decorations on the middle tier, and pearlized candy balls on all three layers. The wedding was in St. Charles, so my trusty Hannah-friend helped me transport it from Eureka, put it together, and finish decorating just minutes before the wedding started! Like I said, she's amazing.

Mr. Weston's 50th Birthday

Mrs. Weston commissioned me to make this cake for Mr. Weston's surprise party.

Hannah's Birthday Cake

Hannah's favorite Starbucks drink was a Cinnamon Dolce Latte, so what better birthday cake to make than a Starbucks cake? I bought Cinnamon Dolce syrup, and made a coffee-flavored cake with Cinnamon Dolce icing. The logo is made with white and dark chocolate.

Wedding Cake for Melissa and Jean-Luc

Work in Progress

This cake took about 11 hours to make. It was a vanilla cake with buttercream frosting. Melissa and Jean-Luc got married the end of Summer 2008. Their reception was on the outskirts of downtown St. Louis, which is about an 45 minutes away from my house. Transporting a wedding cake is stressful! My best friend Hannah went with me to help transport the cakes, and also to keep me calm. She's awesome like that.
